A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
