I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.

Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
